Abolition of industrial tariffs on imports into Switzerland
Abolition of industrial tariffs on imports into Switzerland
The abolition of industrial tariffs (BBl 2021 2330) came into force on 1 January 2024.
In Switzerland, all goods are considered industrial products with the exception of agricultural products (including animal feed) and fishery products.
The abolition of industrial tariffs thus covers all goods in Chapters 25–97 of the Customs Tariff, with the exception of some products in Chapters 35 and 38, which are classified as agricultural products.
But be careful:
If it is established at the time of import that the goods will definitely remain/be consumed in Switzerland, proof of origin is no longer required. Otherwise, it is mandatory to issue a proof of origin.
